TWO SUPERVISION TRAINING EVENTS
INITIAL TRAINING FOR LMFT’S, LPC’S & LCSW’S
AND REFRESHER TRAINING FOR LCSW SUPERVISORS
In order to provide Licensure Supervision in Virginia, licensed clinicians must have continuing education/training in Clinical Supervision. LPC’s and LMFT’s are required to have a one 20-hour Supervision training. LCSW’s are required to have an initial 14-hour Supervision training with a 7-hour refresher every five years.
VAMFT’s Supervision training events meet the requirements established by the Virginia Board of Health Professions toward Clinical Supervision certification or recertification for LMFT’s, LPC’s and LCSW’s .

LCSW’S - INITIAL 14-HOUR TRAINING - FRI & SAT 7/18/25 and 7/19/25
Training content and process will be interactive, didactic, and experiential.

RENEWING LCSW’S –7 HOURS ON SATURDAY, 7/19/2025
Training content and process will be interactive, didactic, and experiential, including “hot topic” vignettes.
Dr. Scott is an Assistant Professor Emeritus with the Radford University Department of Counselor Education, where he taught clinical coursework since 2003. Wally has worked in the counseling field for over 30 years in various professional settings (e.g., Social Services, residential care, community mental health, court services and family services). He is a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the Virginia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (VAMFT), and the Roanoke Area Counselors Association (ROACA). He formerly served on the Virginia Board of Counseling.
Dr. Beach has 30+ years of private practice experience providing individual/family counseling, supervision, and training in southwest Virginia. Alan provides consultation for area family service programs, and is active in autism spectrum education and advocacy. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the Virginia Society for Clinical Social Work (VSCSW), and VAMFT.
