Hello, Everyone- I have been reflecting on the value of community lately, in my professional and personal life. I walk with a group, I belong to a community organization that offers shared goals, I have participated in professional consultation groups – and, as for all of you, experienced VAMFT as a professional “home,” where everyone speaks our shared systemic language. This has been especially evident with our community recently: at the trainings and Palaver, I enjoyed the shared experience of “shop talk” – collaborative learning, and, by the way, being the student of a former student at our recent webinar! Short analysis: community helps us. It affords a sense of belonging, of shared experience, the safety of familiarity: safe harbor! |
